Franklin Hugh Money

An Investment in Knowledge

Franklin Hugh Money documents one individual's journey from financial confusion to, hopefully, financial independence.

Named after Benjamin Franklin (whose wisdom on compound interest remains surprisingly relevant) and Hugh (a family name that completes the acronym rather conveniently), this project chronicles the patient accumulation of wealth through remarkably boring methods.

No day trading. No cryptocurrency speculation. No get-rich-quick schemes. Just index funds, patience, and the occasional observation about why this is all harder than it needs to be.

Investment Philosophy

A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned

A penny earned compounds, when invested. Every dollar you don't spend is a dollar working for you.

Death and Taxes

The only certainties in life. Taxes can be mitigated. Death cannot. Plan accordingly.

Time is of Value

Time in the market beats timing the market. Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world.

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest."
— Benjamin Franklin
(Though he failed to mention it compounds tax-deferred)
